The Abu Dhabi government has announced a further update to the rules for crossing the border into the capital.
Since June there have been restrictions in place for getting into the emirate, with the most recent one being a laser-screening service available at the border.
That system was put in place on July 14th but from today (Thursday July 16th), that process has changed - border screening can only be used if you book an appointment in advance.
In a tweet from the capital's official Abu Dhabi Media Office, The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, said this was due to high demand for the service. You can book an appointment here.
If you have an appointment and pass the screening test when you get to the border you will be allowed into Abu Dhabi.
Anyone who already has a negative PCR result does not need to book a screening test at the border and will be allowed through to Abu Dhabi upon showing the test result.
