Dubai-based bespoke brand Custom No.9 has come up with a plan to combat waste from the production of its bespoke pieces.
Designers are using cut offs to create limited edition contemporary household and home décor products with the materials.
A new product will drop on the 9th of every month and once the limited edition run is over, it's done.
Customers can find out at the start of each month what's upcoming.
“At Custom No. 9, we're extremely conscious about our wastage, always aiming to reduce, reuse and minimise,” explains founder Amy Mill.
“We've been playing around with our surplus materials from custom furniture pieces for months, hand making lots of unique products, and have simply made too many to choose from! So, we decided why no make them all?
"We have carefully selected home decor to tech products and we look forward to unveiling these each month. Each piece will vary in character and will be limited edition. Because we don't mass produce. We customise bespoke things. Stuff with stories.”
The first Off-Cut Drop series took place on June 9th, with Terrazzo serving boards available in two different sizes selling out with hours.
On July 9th, Custom No.9 will be launching mobile phone stands made from Terrazzo and marble.
Available in two sizes and priced from AED 70 to AED 200, the stand will be available online at customno9.com, on July 9th at 9am. You can keep up to date on Instagram @custom_no.9 for news and latest announcements.
