Sam Kaufman Saliba refers to herself as a hobby artist, but that hasn't stopped her company Art Painting Lab going from strength to strength since launching in 2006 as a company specialising in murals.

Since then she's been commissioned to create art for some of the most striking restaurants, bars, shops and hotels in the region.

The latest, and perhaps her most notable yet, is at the Radisson Red in Dubai's Silicon Oasis. It's the first foray into the region for Radisson's funky hotel brand, which is aimed at the millennial market, and Saliba's fingerprints are all over it.

It has 104 rooms, eight suites and 59 apartments. The characterful interiors and bold design are a feature of the brand, which focuses on offering stylish, affordable stays.

"Radisson Red is an artistically bold hotel concept, young and trendy, the theme captures the nomad mindset of today's travellers," said Saliba. "The art incorporates a spirited attitude capturing local culture with a contemporary spin of international vibes and progressive movement. It's an incredibly good decision to incorporate authentic and inspiring art into a hotel property. People now seek more than comfort, convenience and good service; they seek authentic experiences."

More Radisson Reds can be found in Cape Town, Portland and Miami.
