This week is your last chance to complete Studio EM and Commercial Interior Design’s industry-specific pricing survey.
The deadline to fill out the anonymous proejct fee survey is Wednesday, 27 November.
You can take the survey HERE.
Created by Studio EM in collaboration with Commercial Interior Design, the survey will find out how much designers – freelancers, boutiques, medium- and large-scale companies – charge for different projects to gauge the threshold for undercutting and overpricing.
Claims of undercutting are rampant in the region, with high-profile designers including Roar’s founder Pallavi Dean, LW Design CEO Jesper Godsk and former Perkins+Will design director Diane Thorsen raising the issue.
Studio EM’s co-founder and creative director, Emma Stinson, has said the rhetoric around undercutting has, at times, been “nasty” and “ill-informed”.
Stinson, along with Studio EM's co-founder and managing director Kristin Stinson, created the anonymous and impartial survey to act as a starting point for an open discussion on fees.
Company names will not be disclosed – in fact, the survey does not even ask for the name of the company, only the country in which it operates.
The data generated will be shared at the designMENA Summit 2019, which takes place on 4 December at Grosvenor House, Dubai Marina.
The designMENA Summit 2019 is kindly sponsored by Lacasa, Emkay Interiors, Huda Lighting, iGuzzini and Electra.
Attendance is free for interior designers and architects but spaces are limited and must be registered in advance. To register as a delegate click here or contact Evgenia Zhelyazkova on +971 4 444 3685 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
