Abu Dhabi-based developer Imkan has joined forces with Nael & Bin Harmal Hydroexport Co (NBHH) to begin construction work for phase one of Al Jurf, a second-home destination along Sahel Al Emarat, the riviera situated in Ghantoot between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Arabian Business reported.
The 370-hectare project boasting 3.4km of azure beachfront will comprise three distinct districts - Al Jurf Gardens, Jiwar Al Qasr and Marsa Al Jurf.
The destination will feature two marinas, private berths, a town centre, hotels, retail, a wellness resort and clinic component, serviced residences and villas.
Al Jurf will also provide residents with access to public and private beaches, beach clubs and restaurants, community centers, parks, mosques, clinics and a private school.
The signing ceremony saw Imkan’s CEO, Walid El-Hindi, and Tony Saliba, managing director of NBHH, symbolically marking the official breaking of ground at the site by making the first shovel strokes together.
El-Hindi said: “Breaking ground at our second home coastal destination, Al Jurf, was another major milestone in a successful year for us... Al Jurf Gardens is the first phase of the entire community and a true reflection of the promise we make to create places that specifically suit the lifestyles of both our residents and visitors.”
NBHH has begun the construction enabling works for phase 1 of the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2021. Al Jurf Gardens will comprise 293 residential villas and land plots and will feature a wellness clinic and resort, a private beach, a marina and community centre.
