Marianna Piccolo, founder of three-person atelier MyPickOne Studio Design, is excited to work in Saudi Arabia despite not accepting any requests the firm has received in recent months.
The Dubai-based interior design studio is working on four residential projects in high-end neighbourhoods like Jumeirah, Emirates Hills, Dubai Marina and Bluewaters. But it is receiving a flurry of requests for commercial interior design work in Saudi Arabia, the biggest market in the Middle East, Piccolo said.
“We are receiving commercial project inquiries from Saudi Arabia and not as much for residential projects,” she told Commercial Interior Design.
“We are more focused on delivering high-end [design] and so far, we have not received a project inquiry that conforms to the quality level that we provide. Nevertheless, we are very optimistic about its future and are looking forward to deliver projects in Saudi and the GCC area as whole.”
MyPickOne has been nominated in the CID Awards 2019 Interior Design of the Year: Concept category for a villa furnished with contemporary art and sculpture in Emirates Golf Club.
The studio has already finished two projects this year: a high-end office for an unnamed client in Binary Tower, Business Bay, and a residential apartment for a wealthy individual in Dubai Marina.
Time will only tell when it is right to start picking up work in Saudi Arabia.
