Glintmeijer Design Studio (GDS), a boutique European hospitality design firm with offices in Dubai and led by Gerard Glintmeijer, will design the interiors of Andaz the Palm hotel for wasl Hospitality.
Glintmeijer says: "Our design approach was to capture the dynamic nature of Dubai and mix it with the local artistic vibe. We're happy about collaborating with the client wasl Hospitality on this property and proud to bring it to life as our first large-scale project."
The luxury hotel will feature twin 15-storey hotel towers located at the centre of the iconic Palm Jumeirah and will feature 217 guestrooms and 116 serviced apartments, as well as a fitness centre, spa, four restaurants, including a speakeasy bar, meeting facilities, a destination pool and beachfront access.
The design of this new destination on the Palm has been inspired by local artisans and artists, as well as Dubai’s culture and heritage. It is the first property to open in Dubai, which GDS has worked on from concept to completion, including detailed site supervision to ensure the design DNA is followed in every detail.
The concept design for Andaz the Palm was developed together with FG Stijl, a company founded by Glintmeijer and Colin Finnegan in Amsterdam back in 1995.
In addition to Andaz the Palm, GDS is working on an array of other projects in Dubai and internationally - Vida Dubai Mall for Emaar Hospitality, the Bellagio Resort by MGM for wasl Hospitality and the Foundry F&B concept in Bahrain, among others.
