Recycled materials were used by 4SPACE in the interiors of Tutus Kurniati fashion store
Waves on the shoreline, rocks and seashells inspired the look
Interiors agency fused international capabilities with local design style to create the interiors of fashion store Tutus Kurniati.
The 140 square metre retail space at Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah specialises in luxury resort wear that’s trendy and comfy, so it was natural that its interiors should feel the same.
4SPACE focused on pink as the featured colour and the interiors were inspired by the waves on the shoreline, rocks, and seashells.
Specifically, the monochromatic shade chosen was a cherry blossom pink, which represents romance, charm, represents friendship, affection, harmony and inner peace. Just like when you’re on the beach, it gives relaxation and tenderness, say the designers.
Media-savvy female customers are catered for with an Instagram booth inspired by beach-side showers, with neon signage and lighting to create the perfect selfie.
On the floor we find terrazzo representing the sands and rocks on a shore. The sustainable material is made from recycled elements.
A multi-purpose wall combines signage, display shelving and a steps seating that take on the shape of waves. This is where customers can sit and make their payments via iPad.
In a cash-free COVID future, Tutus Kurniati was designed with no cash desk, so make sure you bring some plastic.
