Claudia Mercantini, director of architecture for Saudi Arabia’s multibillion-dollar Red Sea Project, will deliver a keynote speech at the designMENA Summit 2019.
Mercantini heads up architecture for The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), which is backed the Public Investment Fund that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz heads up.
The company is leading the development of the Red Sea Project, one of the largest and most ambitious tourism projects in the world.
Mercantini will open up the designMENA Summit 2019 with an introduction to the tourism gigaproject, followed by an overview of the Saudi economy and how the project fits in with the Vision 2030 strategy for social and economic change.
She will also highlight the sustainability and environmental work the project is carrying out.
Mercantini joins a stellar line-up of speakers at the invite-only summit, which takes place on 4 December at Grosvenor House in Dubai Marina.
Emirati product designer Khalid Shafar, Roar’s managing director Kathryn Athreya, and the CEO of Swiss Bureau, Joakim de Rham are among the confirmed speakers.
