A three-time winner at the CID Awards 2018, Omar Ghafour knows what it takes to walk away with top honours at the gala interior design ceremony.
He is the founder of multi-disciplinary design and architecture practice Light Space Design, formed in 2004, and has worked across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US. He is also an active member of the design community and was invited to be part of the Venice Biennale of Architecture and Light, as a keynote speaker.
So what is the former CID award-winner looking for from entrants this year?
"I will be looking for more than just curated images and stylised photo shoots. I want to see true design routed in innovative and functional layouts, detailed properly with complete spaces working not just the frame used in publications.” He adds that being asked to be a judge for the CID Awards this year has been an honour for him.
“To be asked to judge is truly an honour the region is and has been producing some world class work,” he says.
To be part of this is amazing and to be able to push those boundaries of excellence is exciting. This event is the benchmark for the region. It’s a treat to see what happens behind the curtain and I’m honoured and excited to see what the region has to offer.”
Commercial Interior Design would like to thank the judges for giving up time in their busy schedules to select this year's winners, as well as extend our warmest to everyone who has entered the awards. We wish everyone the best of luck.
