Adelino Enriquez from Perkins+Will walked away with the award in the Behind the Scenes category.
He accepted the award from Deniz Akkaya, vice-president, Gulf, Grohe Middle East, Africa and East Mediterranean.
Describing his sentiments, Enriquez said: “Being part of the Commercial Interior Design Awards and to be shortlisted is already an achievement to me, but to be a winner within this category is very different. I feel so honoured, blessed and very grateful to be a part of it.”
He added that he was taken by surprise as he wasn’t expecting to win as he know that the other shortlisted nominees worked equally hard and that they’re all deserving of this recognition.
Enriquez said: “To me, we are all winners of this award. This award means a lot to me. I think all my hard work has paid off and most of all, I made my company and family proud. This recognition is also for Perkins+Will because without these amazing people around me I would never have won this award.”
The judges praised him for being a valuable asset to the firm. They also lauded the 3D visualiser for his highly regarded technical drawing skills, as well as his energy and positive attitude.
The Highly Commended award in the category was also picked up by another nominee from Perkins+Will, Jay Basiga.
