Jointly nominated for the project, BW Interiors and Compass Project Management, picked up the Fit-Out Project of the Year for their restaurant project, Flamingo Room by Tasha’s.
They beat other strong contenders in the category including Drift Beach Club by Alec Fit Out and King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre by Depa Group.
The award was presented by Rajesh Ambat, divisional manager, BSH Walls & Floors to Khalil Ayyoub, project manager, Compass Project Management and Russell Wright, commercial manager, BW Interiors.
Later, speaking to Commercial Interior Design, Michael Melnick, managing director, BW Interiors attributed this win to a flawless collaboration internally and externally with Compass Project Management. He said: “Firstly, the main idea about a successful project is collaboration. The team effort makes it successful. It’s both an individual and a team win. For us, every individual in the company is important – from the cleaning staff to the project managers – everyone plays a role in this collaborative effort.”
He further commented on the significance of the CID Awards in the industry: “It keeps getting bigger and better. It’s becoming prestigious to win an award here. I talk on behalf of both the firms. We are chuffed that we were nominated in the first place and then to win it is special.”
William Hitch, director, Compass Project Management added: “This project is spectacular. I would say it’s the best looking restaurant in Dubai. It required a lot of physical and mental effort and co-ordination from all the departments. You can see it in the performance and the finishes of the restaurant.”
Highly Commended in this category was Renaissance Downtown Hotel by Khansaheb Interiors.
