Dubai-based multidisciplinary designer, Aljoud Lootah, has been involved in numerous projects that distinctly interpret Emirati culture, craftsmanship and contemporary design. Lootah has exhibited her designs locally and internationally, most recently at Beijing Design Week. She has also created "Yaroof", an installation at this year's Dubai Design Week that was inspired by the local fishing heritage. Her other exhibitions include Design Days Dubai, Milan Design Week, London Design Festival and Abu Dhabi Art. Two products from her furniture collection Oru Series were recently acquired by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia, making her the first Emirati designer to have her work purchased by an international gallery.
