Pallavi Dean is the founder and creative force behind Pallavi Dean Interiors, which picked up the prize for Interior Boutique Design Firm of the Year at the 2017 CID Awards. In addition to the studio’s flagship projects, the new Delano and Yotel hotels on Palm Jumeirah, together with Christina Morgan and Agatha Kurzela, Dean is delivering bold designs across the commercial, residential, food and beverage, and public sectors. This year has been one of many firsts for the team as they delivered their first build schools, Sharjah English School and Sheraa Entrepreneurship Centre; their first restaurant with chef Maroun Chedid and Sheikha Bodour al Qasimi – Shababeek; and their first beauty salon, Mrs B Lounge. The team is currently designing a ‘book café’, Al Rawi, with a fun take on retail within hospitality spaces; a nursery for the government of Dubai; and three luxury villas.
As a professor of interior design at the American University of Sharjah, Dean strives to implement the latest theoretical and practical research into the firm’s designs.
