Dates for the 2020 edition of Dubai Design Week have been confirmed.
The festival is set to take place at Dubai Design District (d3) from November 9th-14th.
Organisers say social distancing measures will be in place and the event will focus on "addressing the role of the creative community in redefining the way we will live in the near and far future" with local and regional designers.
On a revised programme are an open call for the Abwab 2020 pavilion, a new UAE-designer focused exhibition; a thematic focus for outdoor installations and public interventions and a hybrid schedule of talks that challenges pressing topics and creates dialogue.
Designers from the MENA region are invited to submit concept proposals for Abwab, an architectual pavilion that will be central to the celebrations.
There will be a curated showcase of local talent and emerging designers.
And social distancing issues in design are to be addressed through semi-permanent public space interventions.
Then there's the usual installations, pop-ups, talks and workshops.
Althought this year's Dubai Design Week is set to be very different from those past, it's an excellent chance to connect with design peers and celebrare the industry.
