Mohammad Al Shehhi has moved on from his position as the CEO of Dubai Design District (d3), replaced by Khadija Al Bastaki who has been appointed as executive director.
Al Bastaki has more than 14 years of executive experience and was involved in building strategic partnerships in her former role as director of business development of Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City.
"I am thrilled to have started 2019 in my new role as executive director of Dubai Design District. Building communities has been a predominant part of my experience, having been at TECOM Group for several years, and I am looking forward to further developing a strong network and a vibrant creative community with the team," Al Bastaki said.
"As part of my mandate, I want to look at ways of bridging culture and design here at d3 and the UAE at a global level, working together with our creative partners to drive businesses to the next level.
"As d3 moves to being an internationally recognised design destination, supporting our regions designers across the many creative fields in the industry is both an important and strategic step for d3 and Dubai as a creative centre," she added.
