Architecture and design firm, SSH’s refurbishment of the Address Dubai Mall hotel is nearing completion, with phase one having already opened in the final quarter of 2018.
The hotel is directly linked to The Dubai Mall, with the initial design completed in 2017 by Meyer Davis Studio in New York.
SSH’s design had to be implemented in a two-phase programme, including three months’ full shutdown of public areas and partial guestroom refurbishment, followed by a three months’ partial shutdown to complete the upgrade of guestrooms by floor.
SSH was tasked with the refurbishment of public areas, guestrooms and suites, as well as delivering detailed design and IFC documentation, while co-ordinating with the client and project consultants, and carrying out local sourcing of materials and value engineering.
The colour scheme of the new design consists of masculine and warm tones to match the existing Crema Marfil marble, which the designers retained during the refurbishment.
The project also includes retail vitrines to connect the hotel interior to the retail experience of the connecting mall.
