Lulie Fisher Design Studio came up tops among six finalists in the Boutique Firm of the Year category at the 12th edition of the Commercial Interior Design Awards. The event, held on September 19, 2018 at the Joharah Ballroom in the Madinat Jumeirah, was attended by almost 1,000 regional design industry professionals, making it the biggest iteration to date.

The award was presented to founder Lulie Fisher by Ali Maarrawi, general manager, OFIS. When asked about her win, she shared: We're so delighted, but it's not about me. It's about the team and each and every person that works with me. They're all amazing. Our clients are fantastic, which has led to these awards. I don't know the reason why the judges chose us over other strong entries. We're a humble little team. But we do we enjoy ourselves, we have fun and we love design.  The future looks bright to us and we will carry on doing the same thing."

Highly commended in the category is the recently rebranded Roar by Pallavi Dean, the winner of this category at the 2017 Commercial Interior Design Awards. The judges praised the firm for  exceptional concepts and design approach.

For this particular category, the judges were looking at the submissions with the best description of company values, design principles, as well as taking into account the number of successfully completed projects. One judge commended the design studio for making its boutique practice a success by giving ownership of the projects to its people. They also felt the winner’s portfolio has progressed through the years, ranging from mid-tier to high profile projects, despite its small size.
